New experiences, new life, new blog..
In just under 10 weeks, I will be heading off on a journey. A journey which will hopefully involve travel, working and experiencing new countries. I leave for the UK (via a week in Singapore) on Sat 17th May, and let me tell you, time is ticking away. I decided that a new journey like this needed a new blog. Learning About the Web is only a couple of years old, but its focus has been lacking of late.
So..check out http://uksfu08.wordpress.com
I will be setting it up over the next few months and including updates on my preparations, ready, to launch and provide updates on my new adventure in May and beyond. ENJOY and please comment away on UKSFU08.
Australian Open
I have been watching a bit of the Australian Open Tennis over the last few days, there have been some pretty good matches. Yesterday, a fairly unknown Tipsarevic took Roger Federer to 5 sets and it was an excellent tussle to watch. I had to give up though, cause it was going to be a very late night…the last match apparently finished around 5 am!
Gold Coast
I have had a bit of a break from blogging, and working over the last few weeks, to enjoy Xmas, New Year and a trip to the Gold Coast. The weather in QLD was unseasonably wet, which made it interesting wondering around the theme parks, but we managed to cover Seaworld, Dreamworld, Movieworld and even Wet n Wild (both in and out of the water). Now have had a couple of days to recover from that holiday (just kidding, although kids are tiring), ready to launch into 2008. It is going to be a very exciting year, with a working holiday to the UK planned in May, some further contract work over the next few months, on some different projects and a plan to enjoy weekends more by doing different things.
Still have 1 TAFE subject to complete for my certificate as well, so I think I will be busy :0)
Photo is Kyla and Breanna, my friends children, enjoying one of the rides at Movieworld.
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Quote of the Night
To me, boxing is like a ballet, except there’s no music, no choreography, and the dancers hit each other.

Study
Have been working hard on the last couple of Sunday’s on an assignment for TAFE. Quite an interesting subject, customer service..but keeping me busy in trying to get it finished to hand-up in a few week’s time. Not getting much time during the week at the moment, so Sunday has temporarily become assignment day!
UPDATE – 10:02 – STILL going…but about had enough for today. Made some pretty good progress I feel – same time next Sunday?
Bay Discovery Centre
I have recently started volunteer work on the weekend, at the Bay Discovery Centre at Glenelg. A social history museum, the volunteer role involves greeting tourists and answering questions on the centre, surrounds and the odd general tourist question tossed in. Today was a bit slow, as everyone was enjoying the sunshine, but I am enjoying the experience, including meeting other volunteers, many of whom have travelled and have lots of great stories to share. Many international tourist visit the centre and it has some interesting displays etc. If you are in the Adelaide area, drop in sometime..
